What else do you need to know? Accommodation There is plenty of accommodation available on the Island during August and September and a range of prices to suit different budgets. Visit our tourism website visitflindersisland.com to see all the accommodation options. Car Hire The Island is pretty big so we suggest you hire a car. There is a taxi service on the Island but it is probably not practical to use it to get around for the whole weekend. Again, visit our tourism website for hire options. Supermarket We have two supermarkets, one in Whitemark and one in Lady Barron that both have a good range of products. You can preorder food by calling Walkers supermarket in Whitemark on 63592010 or the Lady Barron store on 63593503. Mobile phones The Island has pretty good mobile service (some areas are a bit patchy if you are tucked in behind a mountain) through the Telstra Next G service. You won't get mobile service through other carriers or phones that are not 3G.
